I would like to set the record straight here. Onyx is not the correct font.
I reviewed the letters on the front & back of the Nevermind CD, and the Bleach single CD. If you look at the lower-case 'y' on back of Nevermind' CD, and if you look at the upper-case G on back of Nirvana's Bleach CD (it's a single of the Nevermind album), it will be clear very quickly that the correct answer is 'Bodoni Poster Compressed'. The 'y' and 'G' do match Bodoni Poster Compressed, but do not match Onyx.
This thread is not about the lowercase of the back of CDs, it's about the image posted by OP.
This is definitely Onyx, look at the shape of the R (and how close A and N are)
(btw Bleach is their first album, it's not a single of Nevermind)

There are many versions of Onyx. The one used on the album is from Bitstream (the link above is correct). If you try with the version that comes with Microsoft Office or Adobe Font Folio, it doesn't match. In any case, Bodoni Poster Compressed is not matching.
