Writing Fonts for Cricut Design Space

Jan 30, 2019 at 17:29

Every font I download from this website appears on my Cricut design space as a cutting font. I am in need of Writing Fonts. How can I tell which fonts I download here are writing fonts? Or is this a Design space setting?

I know this response is 3 years after the fact, but in case anyone else is frustrated by this...

Any font you download from Dafont (or any other font site) is going to be recognized by Cricut Design Space as a System font. That means it will only be recognized as an outline, no matter if you set the operation to cut or draw.

If you want to draw or write a non-Cricut font in Design Space, select thin fonts (use keywords like skinny or monoline to search) and the outlined pen stroke should be narrow enough to appear as a single line.

In Design Space, make sure your operation is set to Pen>Draw.

Check out my curated list of non-Cricut skinny fonts that work well with Cricut pens: https://sniptoit.com/writing-fonts-for-cricut/
