John Carpenter's Halloween sans serif font

Oct 02, 2019 at 17:26

I'm wondering what the sans serif font used in the titles of Halloween (1978) is. Any ideas?

Thanks, I saw that mentioned elsewhere, but i thought they were referring to the serif font for the title itself "HALLOWEEN".

Am I correct in understanding that there are variations on the font for both serif and non-serif use?

Sorry, I don't follow.

All the lettering in the image above uses Serif Gothic. I'd call it a sans serif, but definitions may vary.

Okay, now that I've downloaded ITC Serif Gothic and can look at it closely, there are tiny serifs on what I thought were the sans serif titles.

The word HALLOWEEN is different, though. More pronounced serifs, different W and E.

That's fine, not looking for that one.
