Ok - I have been looking. There is a monogram embroidery font named empire. Does anyone know what the closest computer font would be? I've looked at so many, but your suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried Harold's fonts? He has a section on Monogramming fonts - and you may be interested in one in particularly - it's called Vine Solid - I was always partial to Inline...
