What font is best? Please reply

What font do you say is really eye catching, for like an advertisement, or flyer? When you see a font what main things do you see in it that make you want to download it?

For an ad, flyer or whatever you choose a type that will best support a message to a specific audience, which has little to do with eye catching or so. Any type director could have told you.

ForeverAri921, here is the Themes page for dafont: http://www.dafont.com/themes.php. For a Flyer or advertisement, I would avoid the following themes, for the most part:

Foreign Look, Techno, traditional Gothic, Basic -> Fixed Width, Script -> School, Trash and Graffiti, and Fancy -> Typewriter, Destroy, Curly, and Distorted.

You'd want to chose something that's easy to read quickly, and from a distance, so many of the Calligraphy and most cursive text fonts are not good choices.

You'll probably find something good in Fancy -> Old School, Basic -> Sans Serif, or Script -> Brush or Various. Then again, you might find exactly what you want in one of the themes I've suggested that you avoid!

Take a look at some of the samples in the Font Identification forum. If you see one you like, follow up on the Designer information through the links provided when rocamaco identifies it. Many designers make a number of similar fonts, or different styles/ weights of the same font family.

To be a bit more explict after metaphasebrothel reply, it can be argued of course but Jokerman could be defined as eye catching. Now, when you are supposed to make an ad/flyer or whatever for a funeral business would you consider that a wise choice?

@metaphasebrothel thank you so much for the info and taking an to help me, I appreciate it very much!

@koeiekat That makes sense as far as audience, I am 14 and have zero experience, never taken classes other than lynda.com, and my asking people. To answer your last question

http://www.dafont.com/castal-street.font?text=Wilton+Funeral+Services

I found in the curly section I found castal-street font and it was subtle not overpowering and flashy but pretty and the sort of peace and neutral feeling like at a funeral. (sorry if I got weird with it...)

This project I'm working on is for me a book cover but I want it to be a cover that is so different and intriguing, just looking at the cover and title without looking at anything else they'll want to read it.

It will be so professional and well done they will want to read it.
